I was away for the last few days and only just started catching up on the news. The sentence given is ridiculous. It’s not the justice the victims deserve. And for people who went through an experience similar to this, it opens up all sorts of old wounds.

Unfortunately, I’m speaking from personal experience, where the sick a**hole involved had 5 prior reports, and he got 3yrs, out in 2.5 years.

How would the judges react if it was their daughters? Would they be happy and feel justice has been done if the perp got 10yrs? I think not! I really do hope there is some kind of appeal to increase the sentence, at least to 10 years per child.

On the contrary, Another John, stiffer sentences may well reduce the frequency of such torrid crimes, but the higher the fine/sentence, the higher the lawyer’s fees, generally speaking.

Example, an errant driver is taken to court when the maximum fine is say 100 euro, how much would the lawyer charge? The same as one facing life in jail for murder?

Raise the fines and jail terms anyway, let the lawyers fend for themselves.

Common trait in victims of abuse. They are afraid to report what happened to them immediately.

The mother if she is alive and living in the same household knew for sure what was going on.

She must be punished for letting these atrocious things happen.

Is the man sick?

He must be treated in a mental hospital because he who is his right senses will never harm his daughters.Why did the girls take so long to bring this up?

Where are all the animal lovers? Why are they not protesting like they did when that dog Star was killed? I did protest that day, but this is macabre!

Has the judge lost his or her heart on their way to court? How could they give such a ridiculous judgement?

When is there going to be a march or silent demonstration organised to show our disapproval of these acts and support for these girl?

Not all psychiatric cases are the same. Some people are still able to care for their children perhaps more than any other normal person out there can.

I had a neighbour who was mental. She’d scream and shout at everyone and everything from dusk to dawn. She lived with her son, but she looked after him, nothwithstanding her own difficulties.

The child went to school, she fed and clothed him and when social welfare officers came round to examine the child, they found he was well taken care of.

All I mean is, even if the person is a psychiatric case, it would not automatically mean that her illness caused her to let her husband do what he did on her three kids. If we say this, we could mean that psychiatric people behave like this, and this is not always the case.

In this case, the mother is most likely to be a psychiatric case, a negligent person, a careless mother, a stupid guardian, someone who needs help of the extreme kind, herself.
