I happened to watch part of TV Hemm where ex journalist/PL MP Gino Cauchi told Mario Demarco that the government could still pay its dues without the Budget being passed, Labour will make good for it.

You have Gino’s word for it !

That’s how informal and trivial we can get and how Labour respects the rule of law.

My take is that JPO will abstain, Franco vote against and am not sure what Jazza will do.

To me the most resentful for not being made minister again this time round has always been Jazza who held back for reasons best known to him. However, Dec 10 may well offer him his last chance to try and hit back.

It could prove very costly for him though, as this administration will still be running this country for a couple more months.

If the budget fails, come January the government might not be authorized to effect any payments of any sort. That might include wages, pensions, etc

I think that JPO will vote in favour of the budget.

He knows that Franco Debono will vote against so he will leave the dirty work to him.

JPO will come out smelling of roses while Franco would have jeopordised his political and legal careers even further.

I believe this will happen because JPO seems to be much more cunning than Franco.
