I honestly can't imagine our current ambassador at Malta House sitting at the negotiation table with these twerps. It would make a great comic cartoon.

Many think that Labour campaigning against the European Union is a far fetched idea after all that Malta went through to join.

I don't know about that but they certainly still don't understand the EU.

Writing in The Times today, Edward Scicluna, their new, fresh candidate who is also an MEP, said that the EU is good for workers but- wait for it -BAD FOR BUSINESS.

Never mind the fact that, in true Mintoffian fashion, he still doesn't understand that the fates of workers and businesses are intertwined, he still thinks of the EU as an entity which will fill us to the brim with foreign workers and competitive companies which we don't need.

The fact that joining the EU opens the market from 400,000 clients to potentially more than five million doesn't even cross his mind.

At another point in the article, he goes on about us living in a Big Brother state. Had he been an 18 year old, he might have been excused for thinking this but the man is bloody 65. He lived through Dom Mintoff's and Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici's time when being interrogated or beaten up for no reason whatsoever was normal.

Even today, it is the Labour Party which constantly tries to find out where people are living and accroach their vote if it doesn't meet their residency criteria, totally ignoring the fact that this goes against the basic democratic right to vote as well as the right to travel and work freely within the EU. They fail to see that wherever you are in the EU, you are still a resident of the same place.

The Liberal and Progressive Party still doesn't understand democracy, free will and the European Union.

We really have a lot to be worried about.

The EU will become indhil barrani according to the tyrannosauri in cabinet.

No more no less.

That will be Malta's end.

Not just the end of the beginning.

Not even the beginning of the end.

Sorry Winston for plagiarising you.

And all triggered off by setting up the new power station by direct order in defiance of EU directives on environmental and tendering procedures, then fomenting anti-EU sentiment by accusing the EU of seeking to deprive the people of cheaper electricity bills, laying the ground for the eventual withdrawal of Malta from the EU.

This ties in with Joseph Muscat's insistence of seaborne gas supplies, when the pipeline link to the EU supply grid is by far the better and more viable option on all counts.

Having been around a bit, I have seen these tactics by Mintoff when in government in the 50s and on different occasions and against different victims during the MLP Golden Years.

First demonise the target, then the Labour thugs and dimwits do the rest.

A clear example of the workings of these tactics was the arson attack on Strickland House, publishers of the MLP's pet hate The Times of Malta.

Joseph Muscat's indoctrination by his rabid Mintoffian nanna is plainly evident, energetically fanned by the carry-overs from the 70s MLP, il-Guy, AST and the rest of the unsavoury fossils.
