Why should I show my face? To have your lot burn down my house and the other lot burn my career prospects?

I’ve mentioned countless powerful people in five years of posts, and rarely have I praised them.

By Maltese standards, the posts would qualify as insults. Malta is a small place, with close-knit professional circles, and I don’t relish the prospect of facing a hostile interviewing board.

It makes no difference who I am. I am nobody, and we are legion. Always lived my life alone, been searching for a place called home.

I know that I’ve been cold as ice, ignored the dreams, too many lies. Somewhere deep inside, somewhere deep inside me, I found the child I used to be and I know that it’s not too late, never too late.

On a completely different subject, why can’t you, Daphne, take your blog to the next level (upwards for a change) and insist that nom de plumes cannot be used. Surely in this way you will eliminate most of the junk and elevate the level of discussion.

Also, if it’s good enough for online forums and comments-boards the world over, it’s good enough for me. In any case, the situation developed because there is no way of checking whether a person’s ‘real name’ actually is his or her real name. timesofmalta.com started out insisting on real names, as I recall, then gave up in the flood of John Borg and Mary Grech and similar. I eliminate a lot of the junk when moderating comments – you’d be surprised at what comes in.]

How sad. Isn’t this country a truly amazing place with the same people attending so called breakfast meetings organized by BOTH parties?

When will the business community learn not to “sell” itself to one political party or the other?

I am hardly surprised that a law to regulate party funding has never seen the light of day. We are slowly but surely becoming a nation without any principles. Viva chi regna!
