Women are great observers and they can weigh people better than men.

My wife observed that Muscat is imitating Eddie Fenech Adami (1981) in every way he can: tonality , dress, slogans and what have you.

After watching this video I’m convinced she’s right. Muscat is the wolf in sheep’s (Eddie’s) skin.

In any successful team the aim of each player is to understand his role and perform at HIS BEST.

One of the most dangerous players is he who starts seeing the other teammates as inferior or rivals and asks ‘who is THE BEST in the team’.

This is the greatest downfall in any team that is why when great players such as Lionel Messi receive honours as the Ballon d’Or they immediately point the spotlight towards their teammates since it was only thanks to them that the successful results were possible.

This is one reason why Joseph Muscat’s claim to make us the best in Europe is disturbing. We are not in competition with the other EU states we are in collaboration, joining our strengths in a globalised economy.

Secondly Joseph Muscat promise to make us the best in Europe is an unachievable goal. The best in what? Today any product, technology and knowledge we are using is the result of multi-national research teams. Collaborating with other countries is a must especially for a small country like ours.

The other point which is very important is that the use of such terminology is a strong indicator that the speaker is probably lying. Liars tend to use strong superlatives.

Joseph Muscat in the first days of election has already resorted to words as “inkunu l-aqwa fl-Ewropa”, “jien ULTRA-convint li s-settur privat ha jkun qed jaghmel pass il-quddiem biex jidhol ghal dan il-progett. CONVINTISSIMU.”

1) This nationalistic speech is a pale imitation of Barack Obama’s 2012 victory speech when Obama memorably said “We are and forever will be the United States of America.”

2) A couple of months ago we saw Joseph Muscat quoting Margaret Thatcher quoting St. Francis of Assisi, who he had discovered through a film.

3) Whenever he gets the chance, he wears a black coat, plunges his hands into his pockets and desperately tries to look cool, clearly inspired by watching too many Mafia films.

4) Coming soon: Something inspired by Abraham Lincoln.

It’s quite clear that the Labour Party in government is not going to take us farther than 35 millimetres.

P.S. I once saw Joseph Muscat buying tickets for The Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists at the Eden cinemas. I bet the pirating is yet to come. As for the science, well, he doesn’t understand science, does he?
