Debt, deficits, taxes, unemployment in a few weeks, François Hollande has seen many of his promises compromised by economic conditions. After a long struggle, the government is forced to abandon its goals one by one.

The socialists in Italy haven’t been able to understand after two weeks of catcalls and plain insults, that Grillo WON”T enter any pact.

The first thing they did was to rule out any coalition with Berlusconi’s centre right and Monti’s centre. How’s that for foresight?

Time just ran out for Bersani who’s proving one of the most indecisive men elected to the hot seat. He’s managed to put Italy in an incerdibly complicated situation given that Napolitano cannot maneouvre for a political solution.

If he goes on like this, Italy will face another technocrat promoted by investors, this time forced upon the country by the BCE, FMI and the EU.

Merkel may have to go back on her personal animosity and try to stitch Monti and Berlusconi.

When push comes to shove the left simply crumbles.

And because Muscat will be the only head of government who’s even shorter.

Socialist Goverments in Spain, Greece and here in France are ruining the economy, gradually undoing what was painstakingly built up by their respective Conservative parties.

There are only two countries still going strong, Germany, led by Angela Merkel, and Malta, led by Lawrence Gonzi. It isn’t a good advert for Socialism that both countries are led by Conservative Goverments. That is why it is important that Malta elects a Socialist Goverment, so that at least there will be a Socialist Goverment in one healthy economy. And if your economy goes down the toilet, well you will be in the same boat as most of your European brothers.
