More worrying is Dr. Muscat’s unguarded reply, basically admitting to the neccessity of lying. It is The Prince chapter 18 gone seriously wrong. One such comment in Brussels and we’re done for.

Reminds me of his mentor Dr. Sant’s now famous the end justifies the means comment, “I will forge a deal with the devil if it helps me attain my goals.”

May he please explain when and for which reasons does he lie. On what grounds does he decide that it is necessary to lie?

Does he use his discretion in the same way that he did when deciding whether to report drug-dealing to the police ?

Did he feel compelled to lie when making the various promises he has made during the electoral campaign? If so, let’s hope that at least he didn’t lie when he said that the PL would report any perpetrators of violence to the police.

I think this is the most important statement that Dr Muscat has ever made.

It has laid bare his (lack of) principles and could help many undecided voters to make up their minds.

Unfortunately it hasn’t been picked up by the other news media or by the PN yet and it may get lost.

The Malta Independent online carried a brief report about it but it is no longer among the top news items; The Times and Maltatoday didn’t report it at all but that’s not a surprise given their pro-Labour agenda.
