I could not attend any of the mass meetings this time round, and yesterday’s live transmission partially filled the void.

Both the Prime Minister’s and Simon Busuttil’s speeches came across as based on true convictions, genuine proposals and from an energetic team ready to overcome all the challenges that will present themselves in the next 5 years. Let’s go for it.

I can’t wait to press it.

They don’t appreciate everything or even anything that Dr Gonzi and the PN have done for every Maltese person.

His speech brought me to tears because I know that the people who will elect Labour to government do not know what is coming for us in the future.

Watching him closely I can say he spoke from the heart, with facts not bubbles of hot air.

Unfortunately, my 18th birthday is on the 9th March so I can’t vote, but I know who is best for the position of prime minister and surely it is not Joseph Muscat.

Those of you who DO have a vote, PLEASE make the right choice for those of us who don’t.

That said, all those mistakes have been for the little things in life. Things that, while affecting me personally at times, isn’t a great detriment to the nation as a whole.

On the questions that really matter their performance have been top notch – budget decisions, joining the European Union, negotiating bigger and better deals from the same Union, the nurturing of foreign investments, the assistance to start-up companies, the improvement in education. The list goes on and on.

“Voting for change” could perhaps improve some of the things that affect me directly. Perhaps the bus service would be better. Maybe Mepa would be less corrupt. Possibly a couple of corrupt politicians would finally get their just servings. Potentially even the courts and the justice system would be improved.

I doubt these things, but they could be true.

But in the end I have a four-year-old daughter and an eight-week-old son. Securing their future is everything to me. The Nationalists have proven, time after time, that they can make life better for them. As a father, my choice would be simple.

If only I could vote…
