I can’t imagine what the PL faithful will make of having Paul Bonello turn up as chief of the Malta Financial Services Authority – his ex-colleagues at Mid Med remember him very well, both as a worker and as a director.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to encounter him and his wife professionally. He said he had a daughter who is an MD and working abroad in some classy London hospital whilst preparing for her post grad.

If my memory serves me right, he also referred to a younger son who was also in the medical course, whilst his wife bragged about her husband’s contacts abroad and how he will be able to find a posting abroad for him as well for his post grad once he graduates.
