However talking of queues, one must really see the sight at the DOI Office on a FRIDAY morning with the pavement full of assisted migrants predominantly from African countries waiting for hours and hours. Tourists visiting the Barrakka are simply flaberghasted at this sight. Can’t one possibly find an alternative location for the processing of these clients and establish a more efficient system for their needs to avoid such queues?

Something must be done NOW at Castille Place, at least for safety if not for decorum. The last time I was there, it was just shameful to see tourists having to navigate their way at the entrance to the Barrakka, through Taxis, Karozzini and their noisy drivers. The occasional urine river of the poor horses could also smell to greet them, and at times there are also delivery vans to supply catering events when these occur.
