There’s another aspect to keep in mind.

The snake-oil artist’s pyramid needs to refresh itself from time to time, shed some of the now useless dead-weight or those who threaten to expose him.

The snake-oil artist will have periods of disappearance and then need to resurface, also from time to time, after chaos and confusion have been sown, to give the official interpretation and iron out the creases. Watch out for bucket-loads of smarm and psychological new-truth adjustments.

Then watch for another period of disappearance where more deals and chaos are negotiated. The least expected are the most provocative and least necessary to justify – because there is no genuine visible and purely-intentioned logical thread. The snake-oil artist will lie through his teeth, for the illusion to be reaffirmed and his pyramid will follow suit.

It’s also a message of “I can appoint anyone who sells his soul to me” to keep the greed strong and the motivation to join the echalons of the game keen.

Double-crossing and back-stabbing are what is expected from those who join. That’s the code.

Those who fall by the wayside have no further use.

Lou is just a way of breaking the ice.

The snake-oil oil artist will be forever building and preparing, confident that no one person will trust the other and that all are dependent on him.

The snake-oil artist’s major asset is the one who covers for him.

In appointing Lou Bondi to the festivities foundation, Joseph Muscat sought to demonstrate his commitment to the Malta Taghna Lkoll slogan and thereby hang on to the switcher voters and possibly build up his credibility with the fringe PN voters.

In the event, he only succeeded in further alienating those voters and actually succeeded in undermining a good proportion of the hardcore Labour voters whom the PL media had so thoroughly brainwashed over the years.

No wonder Joseph Muscat has increasingly kept himself out of the public eye. The carefully crafted fakery is rapidly crumbling. His ‘address to the nation’ this evening is on a par with the Lou Bondi appointment in showing up his ineptitude in government.

A classic example of better to keep silent and be thought a fool, than opening your mouth and proving it.
