I was a passenger on the Malta-Rome flight on Monday evening which was scheduled to leave Malta at 18.40 but ended up leaving at 19.20 or later, making me lose my connection flight at Rome and on top of that, Air Malta charged me for a re-booking fee! The reason I was given was that the plane had to be diverted to Malpensa from Rome to collect passengers from there like what had happened a few weeks ago, so it ended up coming late to Malta. I am now doubting what the real reason for the delay was!

Can you imagine the frustration of missing a connecting flight because of a tardy VIP?

This is looking more like Saudi Arabia: when the king is flown on his private plane from his airport, all roads are closed in the airport area and you will have helicopters hovering around for security purposes.
