Whether he was a top lawyer or not, Manuel Mallia has obviously been too long associating with criminals judging by the way he keeps coming up with fairy tale defences of his actions.

He would have us believe that the police asked if they could do the catering for the European Broadcasting Union conference, that he sat on an interview board but had no say in the decisions reached, and that PBS asked his ministry to recall Norman Vella.

I couldn’t possibly accuse him of lying but on old English word comes to mind – poppycock.
