To me it all seemed like a stage managed bit of bad acting.

I sadly suspect that in the long run Malta is “cooked” or “done for” as they say, with these amateur and self serving politicians who no longer have the real interests of the Maltese people at heart .

He has fomented hatred and got people to bash each other about depending on which side they are on (racist or anti-racist this time).

PN managed to quell this sentiment of spite and hatred towards each other. And wham…in four months the rabid monster is back.

We’re back to the Mintoffian era. People fighting on buses (not only in that video example doing the rounds), people fighting in queues, people fighting on the internet.

And I’m using the word fighting deliberately as opposed to arguing, since the energy and the sentiment is the same or closer.

Yes the issue is an extremely serious one, so people feel the need to talk about it….but the way it has been so heavily politicized (“all because of the EU” crap) and laced with venomous rhetoric is terrible.
