No one has ever heard such a lot of clap trap. It now turns out that Dalli went to the Bahamas with his daughter to conduct some very suspicious
philanthropic financial transactions.

John Dalli’s financial wings spread from Malta to Jersey,Switzerland,Libya, Qatar, Brussels, Bahamas and possibly further. On page 26 of the OLAF report, it states that John Dalli telephoned Silvio Zammit at 18:00 on the 6th, but then on Page 30, it states that it was Zammit who phoned Dalli, the other way round.

Maybe the fact of who phoned who will come to light during Zammit’s trial.

I take the view that it is more likely to have been Zammit who telephoned Dalli at 18:00 on the 6th July, because Dalli was in Cyprus on EU Commission business on that day.

It makes more sense for it to have been Zammit who telephoned Dalli, given that it was Zammit that had been interrogated by OLAF the day before, i.e., 5th July.

I am surprised that this error in the OLAF Report has not been highlighted by anybody else before now.

It doesn’t make any difference in the overall scheme of things as to who actually telephoned who, but the truth would help to avoid speculation, so that we can all be singing from the same hymn sheet.

Can you imagine renting a villa in the Bahamas for $8,000 a month , and the landlord starts to send you threatening emails, comes to Malta to do business and what not?

What does John Dalli do normally when he feels threatened? He goes to the police.
