Dr Mallia did declare that he had “property in Romania.” Up to just a few years ago, prior to admission to European Union, property is this country was relatively cheap and many, including Maltese, bought at rather low prices.

Now prices have rocketed. Could Dr Mallia have sold his property in Romania? And is there any way this can be checked in this country? And where in Romania was his property? How much property did he own there?
