[Daphne – Not so much the occasion as the rest of the clothes. Suits require (black) lace-ups. Brown lace-ups are for separate jacket (like a sports/tweed/casual wool) jacket with trousers. Slip-ons are worn with jeans or chinos.]

Perhaps some of you would rather have me cheer the PN along when they are making such a hash of things.

Note too that moaning and criticising are two different things. This is the latter.

I often do so, and sometimes I also condemn. I’ve seen how the other side lives and I have standards.

I cannot bear to see our leaders, however rubbish they may be, and however often they brazenly trample upon us, being given an easy ride when some of us have had to sweat blood all our lives.

I am not in the business of “lending a hand”. I’ve more grey hairs than days left to me. If the PN wish to use my services they can engage me at commercial rates.

There’s precious little to smile about these days. We’re in the middle of the most catastrophic economic crisis ever, and the worst is yet to come.

On top of that there are environmental, humanitarian, social and demographic crises. For the first time in human history, our children will be worse off than us.
