I am told that SPCA Gozo made two trips to Malta to attend the press conferences and only got €150.

Whatever the hospital was meant for, George Pullicino’s government offered it to be used as a private veterinary clinic/hospital.

Trevor Zammit’s letter of intent was the best proposal accepted by the government.

The service is impeccable, even if not without fault (within human parameters). 24/7 veterinary surgeons in attendance in well equipped environment.

The government only demanded a rent and treatment to injured strays picked up by the animal welfare ambulance service as per agreement with Dr. Zammit.

It was reported that sanctuaries would have a 20% discount on services but since no tarrif was published nobody knew until today how it worked out. Eventually it was at the discretion of a usually generous Dr. Zammit.

The above distribution was not held in Valletta but in Lija at Villa Francija, the PM’s residence. It was said on the news to fund sanctuaries but many of these NGOs don’t run sanctuaries. Every euro helps to assist animal lovers to care for the animals.

Unfortunately, the €250,000 earmarked in Tonio Fenech’s budget to assist animal sanctuaries (Animal Welfare Initiatives) were taken out of their mouth to fund the animal welfare department.

Mrs Muscat does not know the meaning of supporting wife of the PM; she has to be in constant competition even with her husband.
