Adding a contact to your list does not necessarily mean that you “like” or are friends with the person in question and it would be good if Facebook provided functionality for it.

Take Franco Debono as an example. one might want to add him to see what he’s up to, but “Like” is surely not the right term for it. I do have some trash on my list that I need to keep for now.

Strictly family occasions such as First Holy Communion and Confirmation and even school plays end up being sources of unnecessary tension when the parent who is in a new relationship insists that he or she will either attend with the new partner or not at all, thus spoiling the occasion for the child.

Sadly the introduction of divorce seems to have legitimized this awful behaviour. Other family members attending such occasions find themselves torn between putting up appearances for the sake of the child or not putting in an appearance at all.
