Oh, he spoke, all right. And he even told us – without a trace of irony – that ‘the king is naked’, when what he meant was that the emperor has no clothes (I couldn’t agree more, especially since he was in China).

It is not merely the way he sits, or what he wears, or whether he is getting fatter/balder by the day. it’s what he says that is important, or the way he expresses himself, and/or whether anybody understands what he is trying to say. The risk of being misunderstood can have very serious consequences.

Fast forward to 25 minutes and he utters the following works: “I do believe that it’s about leadership”. Is he really hinting that “EU lacks leadership” as Maltatoday quoted him as saying ? Or did he intend to say something completely different ?,

Immediately afterwards he gives the following definition of the European Union : “the EU is an exceptional ….. super national …… I wouldn’t call experiment but …… an innovative structure”. What on earth does that mean ?
