No, this is not the first whistleblower they are tearing apart. The first person/whistleblower they went out to destroy was during the election campaign – the one who revealed the story about the drugs case at the PL Safi Club.

Neither do I, who have known Franco Depasquale for about three decades or so! To me it is hardly believable – still less explainable.

The time has come for people with backbones to stand up and be counted. You, Daphne, are doing it but I see we have a dearth of backbones and brain cells in this country.

It would certainly appear that Judge Depasquale lacks a backbone. Our turn is next. We, the people, have to somehow stand up and be counted. When our turn comes, and our turn WILL come, we have to stand up and be counted.

Gone are the days of rule of law so in one way or another we will all become victims.

And to all those switchers out there, I dedicate Daphne’s column of this morning and I gloat. It certainly has been a pyrrhic victory but in the end, we, the minority, are victorious in our defeat, we are vindicated and perhaps one day, while Rome burns, we will be looked at in the eye and asked for forgiveness.

We may forgive but it is already too late. Now we can only watch in horror while Rome burn and wait. The tide, I’m sure, will turn…someday.
