To think that Joseph Muscat actually had the gall to tell Cecilia Malmstrom to take the immigrants to Sweden if she’s so concerned about them, with his supporters chipping in and telling her to keep them between her legs . Now who’s left looking like a fool?

The reason that the majority of immigrants into Europe get less news coverage is because their entrance tends to be less dramatic. Instead of coming in on a rickety boat, they usually enter legally on a plane and overstay when their visa expires. The other reason is probably because they deal with the situation with a minimum of fuss and without engaging in the whinging and whining which our prime minister is so fond of.

Here’s something else Joseph Muscat doesn’t say: A system of migrant distribution will have to work both ways. If northern and central European countries take in the majority of immigrants, it might very well be that Malta will have to take in more immigrants not less.

Please also note that Malta and Italy have never offered these countries any help with their immigrant situation, which makes northern and central Europe look decidedly less evil than Joseph Muscat tries to paint it.
