Someone should ask Gozo Channel whether the ship which left Twanny Bronka fuming in Cirkewwa was positioning back to base as is normal when shuttle operations finish.

Also, is it true that the scheduled ferry had already left Mgarr and was therefore a maximum of 20-25 minutes away? And then they suspend the duty manager!

He should have gone one step further by pointing out that the other 'stranded' people in their cars were all Labour supporters who have adopted Joseph Muscat's practice of arriving late for public transport.

But isn't that a fair deal? Oh, come on, what's a one euro increase in bottled gas prices when you're getting 3 cents per litre reduction in petrol for the next 3 months? That's a bargain, wouldn't you say so?

Socialism is a very ugly thing indeed.

It seeks to bring everyone down to a common level (the aristocracy of the working classes) so that it can then easily foist its stooges on top of everyone else.

The MLP perfected socialism to make it even more perverse and controlling. It turned the local brand of socialism into a dictatorial, far-right, champagne-socialist version that simply acts as a service provider to its faithful. Its messianic approach to everything uttered by the party or its leaders leaves no room for manoeuvre, you either embrace the “message” or you are “a negative bastard who has no faith in his own country and countrymen and acts against the national interest”.

It then seeks to demean anyone that does not agree with its corrupt, grimy and grotesque way and manner of governing. “We saved €183 a week”, the Minister said in parliament, when asked about the “part-time” homage given to the fallen by switching off and on the eternal flame.

That’s less than €10,000 a year in savings. But the new cabinet costs more than €2.5 million according to my estimates. That’s probably around €1.5 to 2 million more than the last one, annually. I don’t have the exact figures.

The MLP is utter scum: a continuous vomiting of democracy and the rule of law. It is despicable that Malta produces such venom and such deviance and such corrosive corruption in such a small island mini-state. Maltese has a better word that describes the local workers’ party that doesn’t translate well into the English equivalent of “rubbish”: “zibel”.

Minister Refalo turns the ferry back for him, Prime Minister Muscat keeps scheduled flights waiting, a chief of staff verbally assaults a security officer carrying out his duty, an inspector gets accused of not participating in a “frame-up”.

I was recently invited to a high-profile concert in Ireland and a senior cabinet minister was attending. After greeting us, he joined the queue with everyone else, ticket in hand, and was seated alongside everyone else, with no red-carpet treatment whatsoever. That is how ministers should behave. Learn, oh bunch of pathetic idiots, learn.

This is what happens when spin has won you the election and you go on thinking that spin can run the country.

For example, the gas price increase of one Euro is trumpeted as a fixed price promise for the next twelve months. Press the general applause button. A year ago, press the shame on you button.
