Cowardly, Katrin? Fuck you. I take full responsibility for the profanity. Because a man must live, somehow, and you cannot fight back when you’re unemployed. So yes, those who can should leave ASAP.

Katrin you say you went to Germany for 10 years. If you felt so strongly you should have stayed. Malta was far from perfect, I can assure you, during those 10 years.

You would have plenty of causes to “fight” for. I know, because I lived in Malta while you were away in Germany, no doubt enjoying the higher standard of living and general civilisation, maybe even furthering your career in some way that wasn’t possible in Malta.

So perhaps you should be a bit less judgemental of those who choose to do the same. It is a bit rich, to be honest.

Thousands of us fought for what was right during the eighties, Katrin – now, more than thirty years later, the mentality of more than half of the Maltese population is 20 times worse than it was then.

If you came back to Malta to fight for what is right I congratulate you and wish you luck – I, for one am not ready to go through it again simply because we were incapable of civilising ourselves like the rest of Europe did, even those countries which suffered for generations under the terrible yoke of Communism.

Leaving is a cowardly thing to do. If you don’t fight, you’ve lost already. That is what we came back for after 10 years of Germany – to fight for what is right.

My advice to the decent people left on the islands: LEAVE while it is still possible to do so, if you can. It will get worse.
