That much is true, but part of the problem is that the exponents and perpetrators of the Golden Years were never brought to justice for their actions. This has allowed their twisted love for those years to be transmitted from one generation to the next, with no evidence to show them that something in Mintoff’s thinking and way of doing things was very wrong.

The Labour Party is made up of free loaders and bums of all descriptions and incomes. There is no way one can change that unfortunately.

If it was that simple they’d have abused of ministerial discretion embedded in the existing law, but their dumb ham-fisted attempt to protect themselves from accusations of corruption has resulted in this even bigger mess. I stand by my theory. Drooling idiots.

I think the role of The Times of Malta in accepting to feed doublespeak and avoiding the issues should be figuring more in discussion.

One can choose not to read it, but the role it has taken on is nonetheless insincere to the original values of The Times of Malta. Several adjectives come to mind: disingenuous (this is generous), duplicitous, and conspiratorial.

There is no disputing the effect of the dumbed-down press in Malta. Its reporting prowess over the past week should be testament that rather than attesting to obligations, it has denied them. There is nothing borderline or objective. No Church-like values present in ignoring reality. Purporting to do so and covering ones tracks behind intelligent demeanour is just as deceptive.

Some do so because they are opportunists, have limited ethical principles and are prepared to alter the values of what is or is not morally correct according to their aspirations.

These persons have no loyalty and while disdaining those with whose vote and support they reached their objectives are ready to shift party allegiance at the flick of a riding crop.

Even if you assume that idiots with university degrees are randomly distributed across parties, the pool of competent people Labour can use is rather limited.

Taking this logic a step further, if government posts are distributed evenly among both parties’ supporters then as a minimum 15% of them are going to incompetents.

If you factor in the Malta Taghna Lkoll pogrom then you’re leaving Malta mostly in the hands if a bunch of drooling idiots. And this legislation is what you get as a result.

Even the electorate has different expectations of the PN and the PL. Think about it: how often have you been told that someone did not expect any better from Labour?

People told us to look to the future and not bring up the past. But it was the past environment that Muscat is a product of. In other words, he got his perception of Malta from the very people who almost put Mifsud Bonnici in power for another term.

The Labour Party of today does not resemble the party it was when it first was founded. Today it is built on Mintoff’s ideals and attitudes. It is those attitudes that must be rejected the same way the PN ditched its classist image to fight for freedom in Malta in the 80s. That is what the PN is built on today.

For some reason the PL seems to be incapable of doing the same.
