In reply to Joe Fenech. As Mr. Fenech (Joe Fenech) has already posted here, wasn't there already something between John Dalli and Daewoo? For the life of me, I cannot remember what. However, I distinctly remember that there was some scandal somewhere. Does anybody remember?

At one time the agent for Daewoo in Malta was John Dalli’s brother Bastian if I recall well. I also remember that the Police had got a lot of Daewoo cars.

In the PAC tonight, in reply to questions by Dr. Beppe Fenech Adami, Mr. George Farrugia confirmed that Dr. Manwel Mallia, who was the lawyer of George’s brothers in their dispute with George, knew about the commissions allegedly paid to officers of Enemalta already back in 2010. It turned out that Dr. Mallia, as lawyer of George’s brothers, had at that time or later been engaged in “arms twisting” with George in order to extract from him a settlement about the dispute with his brothers.

Dr. Owen Bonnici attempted to protect Dr. Mallia, claiming that lawyers are bound by professional secrecy towards their client, saying this was something lawyers learn as part of law fundamentals.

Dr. Bonnici did not seem to understand that Dr. Mallia was not the lawyer of George Farrugia.

Don’t lawyers learn, as one of the fundamentals, to distinguish who their client is in a dispute?
