I can bet my last euro cent that no Labour-leaning individual will be paying a single fine over the next five years – they’ll be filing petitions with the Petitions Board instead and making sure their petition is accepted.

Not to mention that I’ve heard of instances where people ‘spoke’ to their lawyer in a bid to have a traffic fine waived. What’s to guarantee that some of the petitions in front of the Petitions Board won’t be filed by Vince Micallef himsef on behalf of his clients?

It will now be fashionable and necessary to speak to the Minister’s aide to have a traffic fine waived. I can just about imagine the queue lining up outside the Ministry.
