What about the 500 thousand euros in cash at his house? Also does the EU know about the rampant tax evasion over here? What about the minister for Gozo, servicing a loan of Eur830,000 with an annual income of Eur23,000? Did the income tax department investigate? And why does the opposition not ask these questions? Or do they evade tax too?

Tony Debono has to say that Mallia knew nothing about the Enemalta corruption because, if Mallia knew, so did Debono himself.

While Manuel Mallia can claim to have been bound by professional secrecy (controversial though this claim might be), Debono can use no such an excuse. By not reporting the bribes, he was therefore effectively breaking the law.

The same reasoning applies to George Farrugia’s brothers.

Another point: if Debono is claiming to not have known about the kickbacks, why is he insisting that the PAC hear him? They are investigating the very kickbacks he did not know about.

The bigger the lie, the more people believe it.

The Minister cannot be blamed if he thinks that he can lie again because the media let him get away with the first one.

We still do not know the exact source of those Eur 500,000 which about a year ago were stashed under Mallia’s mattress, and what happened to them since.

Manwel is a confirmed liar. The only problem is that his Leader himself has been caught lying, so won’t do anything about it. It is obvious that lying is the norm with this Government.
