So true, Joe. Albert Marshall worked for a community channel in Australia before returning to Malta and half of Malta does not realise that this extent of his experience, which was partly voluntary, speaks for itself.

So he lands himself the job of PBS boss in 1996 under Sant’s government, and instead of finding ways to nurture new professional talent he thinks that updating equipment would be enough to upgrade TVM. He was so wrong.

He considers himself Malta’s pioneer in television because he produced a soap called Il-Madonna tac-Coqqa. The fact that it was in the 1970s is no excuse for the mediocre production quality.

The woman in the white shirt is his daughter. Perhaps he’s helping her build a straw hut. He did say once that his daughter lives in the ‘wild’ leading a very natural life without the luxuries we’re used to.

It looks that he’s doing some community work in the middle of nowhere. There are no services, in that area.

It’s important to keep the glasses hanging by the neck while pushing the wheelbarrows.
