I am not against the statue of Mintoff. It will be a monument to the person who divided Malta into ‘North’ and ‘South.’

A monument to the mentality of ‘us’ and ‘them.’

A reminder of the cause of the British army’s departure. Also monument of the sub-division of the Labour Party into socialists and Mintoffjani.

Let’s not be so negative. It is also a monument of union. We had the cooperation of the police force with the Labour thugs, the Labour Party’s marriage with the GWU, the nationalisation of private companies like banks, union with Muammar Gaddafi’s despotic regime in Libya, close ties with the communist dictators of the era, and so much more.

I picture his statue, in his early eighties image, his tiny person, standing straight, glaring with satisfaction at the Prime Minister’s office window, while zipping up his fly (this time round) as if saying:
“h*8.com”
