I have only a few observations: 1) it is important to differentiate between South Africa and Southern African states. South Africa is a wealthy country and the largest economy in Africa. The type of person a jurisdiction like Malta would attract from there is historically a white, wealthy entrepreneur – something Malta could really benefit by VS black African states and dictators – which is a different kettle of fish , entirely. The one brings value and expertise the other takes. 2) Malta is one of the most complex jurisdictions in which to gain either residency or citizenship and I believe the current government follows high standards of due diligence and pre- qualification – something most Maltese citizens seem to be in aware of. The Ex Patriates I have met in Malta – wether British, Australian or White South Africans have been people I am proud to know and in my view have brought huge value to our Island.
