Are you an expert in audio video recordings? How do you know what was said and who said it? You heard nothing. You’re just spreading rumors and hate. Its the same people who claim that the Mosta animal killer is a Muslim or that Al Qeada killed a christian girl and stuffed a crucifix down her throat.

They are rejected asylum seekers who are then kept in detention so they can be returned to their country of origin.

However due to difficult relations between Malta and these countries, this is made difficult, but not impossible.

So if in the meantime they are kept in degrading conditions, it isn’t exactly their fault, and they do not have that many options but to protest.

The protest was sparked by the recent discovery of a number of dogs being kept in small cages in an abandoned farm in the south of Malta. Although the dogs were being fed and given water daily, they were not allowed to leave their cages, some of which housed 5 to 10 dogs per cage.

There was also strong reaction to video footage which this newspaper has obtained, showing how the dogs were beaten, kicked and tazered when the people responsible for the farm tried entering the cages. One of the dogs was so badly beaten, that he was pulled out from the cage being carried by two men. The animal’s condition is still unknown.

Many commentators on the message boards are asking for tougher sentencing by the courts in cases involving cruelty to animals.
