I think it’s far better than some of the silly contemporary geekoid days like “Pi Day”, “Pirate Accent Day” or that Star Trek rubbish.

A bunch of flowers does wonders for one’s relationship with Ritienne. Her father the old kuntrattur thinks it’s all “nejk” of course, and the mother-in-law that it’s all a hela ta’ flus which are better spent on granite kitchen-tops.

I was in a supermarket last week and I heard a woman asking the man behind the cheese counter to give her a little extra because it was soon Women’s Day. Pathetic idiots.
