She doesn’t even know how to present her cases and discuss matters. The first time I met her was last year and my first impression was, “How could you have graduated as a lawyer, being so ignorant?’

Magistrate Edwina Grima worked for the law firm of Dr Joseph Brincat, former deputy leader of the Labour Party.

She is mostly renowned for the unforgettable acquittal of Cyrus Engerer, the switcher Labour star, from the charge of having posted through the internet obscene photos of his former boyfriend who had ditched him. Though these vengeful images were posted from different private computers to which Cyrus Engerer had access, Magistrate Grima acquitted Engerer.

Surprise, surprise, she was promoted judge on the first opportunity.
