Is this the comeback of Jason Micallef and a sign of Alfred Sant’s hold on the “new Labour”?

I thought it was not his best performance. He usually can do better. But still, he rubbished her. And I loved it when he turned on Marlene Mizzi “Ara inti m’intix tal-qalba.”

The PN speakers are just dull. They have to knock their opponents out by making them remember of their past.

The BWSC is NOT a cancerous factory, but what Labour is doing with the gas ship is outrageous and waiting for a big tragedy to happen.

THAT is what the people of Marsaxlokk, Birzebbugia and whereabouts want to know and NOT niceties of the PN speakers.

They have to go down the people’s way of thinking, otherwise they won’t be seeing government for another nine years.

What made it worse was his clear sense of pride in repeating it. If this is as far as he is going to take Malta, may the winds that shipwrecked Paul on this rock blow to push the Island of Malta forward, IL-QUDDIEM.

That is not the reason why Alfred Sant was not presented as Labour’s favourite horse. It was his decision. Just imagine the humiliation for the former Prime Minister upon being interviewed by Peppi (notwithstanding the fact that Peppi could not make it today).

To do this we have to accept Muscat’s and Engerer’s hypothesis that a Magistrate can been politically manipulated only this time it’s not the PN but the MLP that’s pulling the strings.

Let’s assume that Joseph Muscat wanted Miriam Dalli and Charlon Gouder in the first place so he secures an appeal from the Attorney General last summer as insurance should things not play out the way he wanted them to.

One month from elections Cyrus Engerer starts getting too close for comfort and just might upset the applecart so someone whispers in the Magistrate’s ear that the Attorney General’s appeal should be seriously considered.

Cyrus Engerer is sentenced to two years suspended for two years blowing his chances.

Joseph hugs Cyrus and blames the PN for having manipulated it all.

This is a wonderful scenario where the Machiavellian Muscat gets his way. Cyrus Engerer is eliminated and the PN are blamed for the bad deed.

Naturally this is pure fiction and events probably turned out the way they should have with no dirty business coming from either Party.

This all goes to show that there are always two sides to a coin and in a democracy it is dangerous to plant the seeds of doubt in the institutions.
