The stories and the angles brought out are sufficient proof of that. She never needed Lou Bondi to find her any place. She is more than capable on her own.

When die-hard Laburisti went berserk after Lou Bondi’s appointment, Muscat told them “Jien naf x’qed naghmel”.

In other words, he’s doing it for a reason and not because he really needs Bondi’s talents.

The fact that he hid the purpose is in itself unacceptable. But the reason is there for all to see as he now waves Bondi’s scalp around in triumph and uses it as ‘proof’ to counterbalance the thousand cronyism appointments he has made.

And the way things are looking, you could describe Bondi’s appointment as cronyism too.

I wouldn’t be so sure, EP elections always favour the Opposition, lower percentage at the polls might favour the PN, given the Labour voter mentality that the EP election is a friendly match, anger of some outer circle LP voters who didn’t get what they wanted, gays are now happy and Cyrus is not on the list, you never know…

It is pretty obvious that Lou Bondi has jumped ship. He is a narcissistic so-and-so who needs the attention and wants the money and the fun of having a free hand and an apparently unlimited budget to organise one pointless concert after another – as though the government is an impresario and he’s the promoter.

Joseph Muscat has plugged into his vanity and greed and has distracted him and bought his loyalty with (expensive) toys.

He has allowed himself to be used and has been humiliated in the process. Not that he cares. Maybe some newspaper should do some digging into precisely how this government has used Bondi’s services beyond the National Festivities Committee, which is now his personal fiefdom, how much he is being paid to act as consultant to the NFC board of which he is a member, and for other matters, and where his allegiances really lie in the light of this.

That newspaper is unlikely to be The Malta Independent, because he has somehow managed to get the mother of his most recent child put on the payroll there in a newsroom position.
