I would agree with you, however, like me, you are assuming that this sort of thing is a PR mess for the PL when it isn’t.

They love it when one of theirs gets accused and/or sentenced like this because it means they can continue to blame the PN and make that person look like some sort of victim.

Basically they are assholes, and they love this sort of thing because they know exactly how to feed it to their supporters who don’t like feeling like the bad guys.

In fact, I think that the PL often feel like they have no choice but to find ways of twisting these sort of situations on their heads because their supporters are terrified of being on the losing team.

They feel that their interests are only protected by the PL, they feel that the PL are the true Maltese leaders, and have no choice but to vote for them. This sort of brainwashing means that they feel that if the PL does something wrong it is their fault too.

Although blaming them might seem fair enough because they voted for them, they do not see the option of not supporting the PL. They have internalised this sort of barrier and can’t find a way out of it.

So they will throw their weight behind the PL even more so, treating it more like a sacrificial lamb that has to come up with reasons why it is not at fault so that they can feel they are not at fault. The worst thing a PL leader can do is accept blame for this. That would be letting the supporters down and that is when they won’t vote for him.

I’m sure that Rumplestiltskin is just being righteous and doesn’t really expect Cyrus Engerer to pay for the costs incurred. Although strictly speaking, it’s PL’s fault for accepting him in the first place.

However there should be a law where someone who withdraws from an election in the last minute, is made to pay a hefty fine to make up for the costs of reprinting.

Why should we taxpayers pay for this additional expense? Cyrus Engerer should be made to pay for it. He caused this mess.

Cyrus has NOT admitted the charges brought against him even though the judgement makes it blindingly clear that he is guilty of a criminal act/s. Cyrus also tried to blackmail his victim.

How can you even consider Cyrus Engerer’s allegation when you now have this background at your disposal?
