She was never an insider, she was a good shadow minister, technically she understood the ropes of Enemalta better than Tonio Fenech who had to rely totally on other people.

Tonio Fenech was good on the financial aspect but when it came to technical issues he was made to believe anything.

A case in point was when he stated that with the smart meters one would know what was switched on by the consumer.

I can understand that smart meters can detect an inductive load, but please they would not know whether I turned on a small fan or a fluorescent tube, they can only GUESS that.

However it irritates me she has to always mention the wrongdoings of the previous administration before attacking the current one, as if not to hurt the Labour supporters.

Quite frankly this woman fails to impress me notwithstanding all her posing as a rebel.

She was an insider, remember, even before the election. She knows the kind of people we have in government intimately. There’s no way I’m going to believe that she did not know what was coming our way when they won the election, and yet she never spoke one word against them before they got elected.

She only started her crusade for “truth” when her de facto husband got stabbed in the back in the most humiliating way possible by the one who should have been giving them their iced bun.

This is no crusade for truth. This is a crusade for revenge, and her remonstrations against her colleagues’ hypocrisy is nothing but the pot calling the kettle black.

When will village patron saints be relegated to the place they belong? I have no admiration for anyone who advocates paganism in whatever form and that includes viva tal-karmnu. Grow up all of you and stop tainting your credibility with parochial pettiness.

Marlene shows more courage than most of the sheep on the government back benches but she does need to be more consistent in her voting. This was not a vote of confidence and she should have at least abstained as parliament is still without the necessary documentation.

Why the change of heart?

She did not attend Parliament’s sitting when the second reading of the Enemalta Bill was voted upon. She said she could not vote in favour of something the details of which were unknown to her.

She attended yesterday’s (Friday) sitting and voted with the Government on the Bill the details of which, I presume, are still unknown to her.

Marlene does not beat around the bush, if she’s with tal-Karmnu she says so, and if she’s against something she just tells you that straight to your face.

People admire that kind of person. Tal-Karmnu are mainly Labour supporters but they like home-grown politicians: Karmenu Vella, Marlene and to certain extent Natius.
Marlene is a crowd puller and Konrad Mizzi is no match for her. Karmenu Vella is down and out.
