Parents have told very clearly that children will no longer be excused for family holidays but will be marked as having taken ‘unauthorised absence’.

I really would like some newspaper to ask the prime minister how he and his wife explained their daughters’ recent absence from school for a trip to the United States. Will the social workers give them a call or pay them a visit as is happening to the rest of us?

Apparently Hello magazine has dedicated a couple of pages on Prince William’s visit to Malta and there is a photo of him with the Prime Minister, Mrs. Muscat and the twins. Mrs. Muscat must be over the moon. She’s got her international 5 minutes of fame.

The best model of the No black rule is the Queen herself. She has never worn black on official engagements other then funeral and remembrance services. Her daughter Princess Anne and her sister Princess Margaret all followed this rule to a tee. Sometimes you might see them in what looks like a black dress but in all likelihood it was a deep midnight blue rather than black.

One of the most famous royal midnight blue dresses was Princess Diana’s dress worn at the white house in 1985. Many mistook it for black but it wasn’t.
