How can we trust the police force when, in one of the conversations between the minister’s driver and a Rapid Intervention Unit policeman, the latter is heard saying: ‘X’garalu dan?’, referring to the victim.

The police on site should have been impartial. Just highlights that this guy is, or thought, or was led to believe he was untouchable.

It is obvious from the tone of their voices that these two men had already spoken to each other.

Could this be a possible scenario?

Mallia is in the car with Sheehan. They’re doing some sort of transaction/deal with Smith. Things get of of hand.

Eye witnesses said there was someone else in the car with Sheehan.

Smith escapes. Sheehan gives chase, he shoots at him. At this point Mallia is still in the car. On the phone call Sheehan is heard saying “Dottor”.

They call Pawlu l-Machine Gun to come get Minister Mallia who is taken to Police HQ, thus creating the alibi that Mallia wasn’t present.

At this moment when Mallia switches cars they come up with the idea of the hit and run.

Sheehan smashes the mirror with the butt of the gun – if you see the picture of the damaged mirror it is totally smashed on top and practically intact beneath.

The subsequent phone calls are made to cover the fact that Mallia was at the actual scene of the crime.

And where is Silvio Scerri in all of this? His silence is deafening. Apart from the alleged phone call he made to the Malta Today newsroom we haven’t seen him of heard from him.

So did Smith stop at some point or did Sheehan shoot at him during the car chase?

If the former, why on earth did he shoot at the car if Smith had stopped and possibly came out of the car.

If Smith was still driving, how could Sheehan have been driving, speaking on the phone and shooting simultaneously?

Multitasking miracle, or am I missing something?
