The Prime Minister set Pullicino Orlando up to fail probably in the hope that he will then slink off into the sunset.

And because of his huge ego, Pullicino Orlando fell for it. The Prime Minister had better watch his back though. JPO will want his pound of flesh for being torn apart the way he was. It sure was fun to watch though.

I cannot understand why so many found it strange for Pullicino Orlando to represent the Labour Party.

Who better than somebody who is ‘morally and politically corrupt’ to represent something that’s morally and politically corrupt?

Actually, it is a known fact that the places in the audience nowadays is given 50/50 to the two big parties.

The fact that no one wanted to go on behalf of the Labour Party speaks volumes about the representatives they decided to send.

Liliana Camillieri’s comment confirms your observation that the Prime Minister actually intended Pullicino Orlando to make a fool of himself on national television.

The Labour Party has shown on many occasions its ability in mobilising its followers/members/rent-a-crowd to make noise at an event. In this case, they did not. I don’t see this as an omission but rather an active decision.
