In the scenario you describe, Mallia’s other driver, il-Machine Gun, would have picked up Mallia and daughter, gone to Sheehan’s mother and dropped the child there and proceeded at full speed with Mallia to headquarters.

There’s also the other Sheehan brother in the picture. He could easily have taken care of the child.

That is why it is important to know what the function was and for what time it was scheduled.

Sheehan is incoherent in Maltese. I doubt he can speak English properly, if at all.
