This government is doing far too much to accommodate the big shots.

Mate, the beach lidos around Sliema are already diluted with some right characters.

I think the events are called ‘Champagne Wars’ or something and during the summer months it is like Jersey Shore with pastizzi.

What they need to do with Gzira is firstly reconfigure the public crossing around the petrol station because it’s just too dangerous walk safely.

Secondly, the stretch of restaurants which are opposite the proposed lido occupy too much of the public pavement space. It’s as if you’re walking through the restaurants themselves and it’s not a exactly a pleasant experience.

Actually if they did get away with a building a lido in Gzira, the Sliema Shore bunch can piss off there.

Once the first permit is issued other applicants will quote it as a precedent in a court of law or at a MEPA board. It has happened with other areas.
