Muscat should note that the majority of the Maltese have been French, English, Italian, Spanish, German, etc since the 1 May 2004 when Malta joined the European Union. Since that day the majority has been Maltese and European.

Muscat is therefore correct in saying that on the 7 January he was French (just for the day). He had been against Malta joining the European Union.
