Or can he hide behind professional secrecy? I guess he might, but not if it is shown that it was he who released the information! You can’t use professional secrecy for as long as it’s convenient, and then publish that which you were keeping secret because it suits you!

Because the Labour Party wanted to hide its hand by not breaking the story directly itself.

It worked out, correctly, that it would have more impact coming from ‘impartial’ Malta Today.

The system which the Labour Party, and now government, has used systematically is this:

1. Malta Today rolls out the carpet.
2. The Labour media/party/government steps on it.
3. Times of Malta’s select reporters come in and clean up.
