And we knew the script all along. It was foreseen as far back as the early 90s before Huntington’s insights into the future of ‘the crescent and the cross’. There’s an article in TMIS (September 1993) that warns of a future scenario where Malta is an EU frontier state facing a belligerent Islamic alliance that extends from the Middle East to the Maghreb. Pity it’s not online.
