Muscat’s statement is tautological.

If one country within a region is at war, then it is only obvious that the region is not completely at peace. The world is never at peace because somewhere there’s always a war going on. So, if the Med’s at war, then the world is not in a state of complete peace.

And, we really needed Muscat to tell us this.

He’s trying to copy Mintoff and give importance to the Mediterranean, and to himself, obviously. But what Mintoff said was that, without peace in the Mediterranean there could be no peace in Europe. Muscat goes one better: it’s the world now, not just one continent.
