I would have thought that what is inexplicable is how a self-appointed anti-corruption crusader journalist and his team are so enthusiastic in their defence of corrupt individuals.

I would say that Muscat is in a fix. He knows that there’s a great risk that the ICIJ may spill the beans on Maltese account holders; a list that would surely include PL top brass and their cronies. So the best way to spin it is to sanitise Michael Falzon and Ninu Zammit so that PL boys and girls holders of HSBC Geneva accounts would come out unblemished when the lid is uncovered.
