What Muscat says: ”Government will chase hidden accounts everywhere, not only in Switzerland”

What Muscat does: ”Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi said that about 1,000 meters were found to have been tampered with…..Only 25 people have been taken to court to face charges connected with last year’s electricity theft scandal…”

If justice is not meted out for crime, who is really benefitting from amnesties?

And to think that the three crooks you mentioned had accepted (and surely had expected) to be ministers part of Fenech Adami’s first government whose biggest task was to cleanse the administration after the Mintoff’s dark years of rampant corruption.

Dr Busuttil must get rid of all such remaining parasites whoever they are and whatever position they hold.

Better a few decent ones than many self-seekers. Joseph Muscat’s pledge to go beyond SwissLeaks should be seen in the light of “tista ma taqbilx maghna imma xorta tahdem maghna”, good governance, and other glib talk.

JoJo has purposely set a precedent. All those with offshore bank accounts can put their minds at rest. This will also help JoJo gain a few more votes. This man must be the most corrupt PM Malta has ever known.

It must be remembered that John Dalli sold Mid Med Bank behind everyone’s back and without authority to Midland Bank in Jersey. This happened to be a subsidiary of HSBC. Midland Bank in Jersey still exists and is used as a front by HSBC.

John Dalli had an offshore account with Midland Bank in Jersey and most probably still has. Maybe if not there he has now possibly graduated to a Bahamas offshore account.

This is getting very messy for many corrupt politicians. But they do not have to worry JoJo will accept any trash in his party as long as he stays in power. Who said that he is power crazy?

I am now convinced that this was the very motivation for this government’s amnesty.

But there is more. The government has announced that it ‘caught’ some 450 million euros from this amnesty.

These three, Tabone, Falzon and Zammit, hardly account for this intake. Is it possible there were some former dictator’s mega millions that needed cleaning?

Not only that. Having screwed the tax-paying electorate all these years, these people are now on privileged two thirds uncapped ministerial pensions payed for by said tax-paying electorate.
