By the time his fiasco is exposed he is wooing everyone with his next improbable venture.

Daddy (his groomers and electorate) will not show him up because the son’s failure is his (their) failure and daddy (taghna lkollers) is still very comfortably off, and, so what, if the son is selling the family jewels as long as appearances are kept and the trough is full for the immediate circle?

1.There is great uncertainty in the future price of LNG.

2. The price of oil had made great inroads competing with LPG and LNG. In the current situation, the power station project is not economically feasible so Muscat is trying to find ways and means of financially helping Electrogas by (ab)using (of) our tax money.

3. The greatest hurdle will be the construction of a safe berth for the 140,000M3 LNG FRU which would have to be acceptable to marine insurers/underwriters.

AFAIK a permanent floating LNG storage unit may not be insured due to the risks involved.

Furthermore, such a berth will take 3-5 years to construct. A marine construction is no joke.

The LNG power station is still a pipe dream in my opinion, an opinion based on technological knowledge.
